Gurnee's Francis Gordon participated in the United Way of Lake County's Reading Success Program initiative. Francis worked with students that have been identified as needing extra one-on-one tutoring to improve the reading skills. Nick Phillips continues to participate in Junior Achievement. JA empowers young people to own their economic success. Nick has taught second, fourth and fifth grade curriculum at schools in Waukegan and North Chicago. Information on Junior Achievement is at www.jachicago.org.

Nancy Piasecki from the Mundelein location participates in both the Mundelein Vernon Hills Rotary Club as well as the Mundelein Community Connections. Mundelein Community Connections is a not-for-profit corporation formed in 1993 to renew interest and investment in downtown Mundelein. Bill Kivit, in Niles, has been an active member of the Niles Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the past ten years.
